The 2025 ZR1 was fully revealed in July of 2024. The top of the line C8 Corvette brings some serious specs to the table and we have compiled some of the most interesting details.
The ZR1 Features A Split Window
The split rear window has returned! And I personally dig it. The C2 Corvette (1963-1967) had a split window for just the 1963 Sting Ray coupe model. The window received mixed reviews at the time, mainly because the pillar in the middle blocked visibility. GM switched to a single rear window for the following year (1964). But the design is appreciated today and the 2025 ZR1 Corvette brings the unique look back.
The 2025 ZR1 Produces Over 1000 Horsepower
The Chevrolet LT7 engine puts down an impressive 1064 hp. That is just a bonkers number to see from the factory. Here are the main points to know:
- V-8 engine
- 5.5 liter displacement
- Flat-plane crankshaft
- 1,064 horsepower
- 828 lb-ft of torque
- 2 turbochargers (with 76mm compressor wheels)
- 24 PSI of max boost
- 8k rpm redline
The 2025 ZR1 was built to compete against the likes of cars like the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. The Dodge pushes out 1,025 horsepower on E85. The Chevy puts out a full 1,064 horsepower on pump gas! In other words, tuning the 2025 ZR1 for ethanol should see even greater power numbers.
This ZR1 Has A Sub 10 Second 1320 Time
Chevrolet has boasted that the 2025 ZR1 can run a quarter mile in less than 10 seconds. They actually claimed an ET of 9.7 seconds (or faster) at an impressive 150 mph.
It Can Reach A 215+ MPH Top Speed
That’s faster than the top speed F1 cars hit on the straightaway on the Downtown Las Vegas Circuit (212mph). It is also 3 mph faster the former C7 ZR1, produced just in 2018 and 2019. Now let’s see how the 2025 ZR1 stacks up against other popular sports cars and supercars in the 200+ mph range:
- Ferrari Enzo: 218 mph
- Lamborghini Aventador: 217 mph
- McLaren P1: 217 mph
- Ford GT (2nd generation): 216 mph
- Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170: 215 mph
- Porsche Carrera GT: 205 mph
- Lexus LFA: 202 mph
The 2025 ZR1 Featured On Jay Leno’s YouTube Channel:
Did you know that Jay Leno has 185 cars and 160 motorcycles in his personal collection? It’s true. His staggering collection is meticulously maintained (and driven). Moreover VINWiki estimated the entire collection to be somewhere in the range of $80 million to $100 million USD.
