Watch This Brake Rotor Overheat And Explode

Today’s interesting automotive video comes from the Beyond the Press Channel on YouTube. They literally overheated the brake rotor on their Ford Fiesta to the point of an explosion “in the name of science”.

It is pretty amazing to see the evolution of this failure. From the heat in the pad/caliper building up to watching the rotor come to pieces in super slow motion.

 

There’s also a pretty raw and swear filled reaction to the whole scene when our hero goes in to retrieve

 

This is a neat video and not just for the destruction aspect. When used as a teaching tool it could really help some drivers on there usage of the “pedal on the left”.
